Probably not. Cause after all, they’re sick people, with a sordid way of life. Not like repressed Catholic priests who sodomize or rape and sexually abuse children for decades and hide behind the veil of religion and morality, using dirty money of the Vatican church to pay off billion dollar lawsuits. They’re definitely worse than the politicians who scam you senseless, abuse power to feed their greed and misuse public support to achieve their twisted, hidden agendas. Yup, they’re more sinful than the despicable tele-evangelist on your GodTV, using the name of God in vain, asking you to donate your hard earned money so he can wear some more bling on his fingers, wrist and God knows where else, all in the name of religion. That same evangelist who preaches that gays are an abomination in the sight of God, and gets caught the next day, in a gay bar hiring male prostitutes.
Yes, in the fabled never-ending fight between good and evil, gay people are decidedly the worst people in the world, and straight people are the ones going straight up(pardon the pun) to the pearly gates of Heaven, to ride along with St. Peter in a golden chariot for all eternity.
I agree that homosexual relations is a sin and that it is wrong according to God, but I don’t think we are called to such “hate” or pointing of fingers. In my humble opinion, it’s time that Christians around the world embraced all people, including those who are sinners and loved them and helped them, not turning our backs on them. What would St. Peter do if he met a homosexual man or woman of today? I believe, he would love them and treat them like human beings and friends, but at the same time make sure they realize that such acts are sinful.
What would you do if you found out your best friend just admitted he was an alcoholic? Most of us would comfort him and help him make the right decisions. Yes, according to the law he may be able to get drunk as much as he wants, but we all know that Christ has been taken out of the law for a long time now, and we will never win that battle.
Long and short, love all people, but do not love the sin itself. For we are all sinners, and all sin is the same, horrible in the eyes of God.

Rosh, i couldnt agree with u more about the urgent need to start spreading the message of love. U hear the pope decrying muslims, homosexuals, n u start to wonder, is this the message Jesus wanted to spread ? However, i dont agree with you that homosexuality is a sin. Jesus did not ONCE say it is wrong. Even if he had, i believe the times and age have come a long way since 2009 yrs ago. The only references to homosexuality come from Paul and other evangelists of the New Testament (who have no authority to say these things). We are called to “not judge, lest ye be judged”.
Whether being gay is wrong or right, views will vary among people. the point of the blog was to bring attention to the alarming levels of hypocrisy in the church. Also, the comparison between alcoholism and homosexuality is an incorrect one to make. Some people realize their inner self late in life, some in teens. Some are born with the inherent feminine traits, or masculine traits, contrary to their sex. Thats not to say its wrong. Its not “NORMAL”, the way society has defined normalcy. I agree wholeheartedly with you, all said and done, we shud teach a message of LOVE. Not hate, segregation n other vices.

I don’t know. First, why is there an old man as my avatar. So weird.
Also, there are plenty of places in the bible where it says that homosexuality is wrong and is a sin. We don’t have the authority to choose which parts of the Bible are relevant and which are not. The Bible is given by God for us to use as a whole.
Also, I hope that you don’t feel that I am judging others. Honestly, I have no right to say what a sin is in my opinion, other than what is in the Word of God. My analogy of alcoholism is a bit terse, but still applies. There are many studies that indicate that alcoholism can be genetic and many people suffer from it. We should not say that because something is an inherit trait that it cannot be classified as wrong.
Rajiv, we should talk sometime, I really want to hear your thoughts on this in person.
